I'm going to prepare some N-doped Carbon by using Cyanamide. To do so, I need to increase the temperature up to 950 C. I'm wondering if this process can produce any toxic product.
The (U.S.) National Library of Medicine's Hazardous Substances Data Bank (HSDB) has a record for Cyanamide (please see the permalink to that record). Sections like "NFPA Hazard Classification," "Toxic Combustion Products," "Hazardous Decomposition," and "Storage Conditions" might be of the most interest to you; however, reading the entire record could be very useful. On the wider subject of laboratory safety, you might be interested on looking at the National Library of Medicine's Enviro-Health Links page on "Laboratory Safety" (please see the link).
