Creativity is a characteristic of human languages. People ca generate billions of sentences even with limited number of words. We 'teachers' should train students to use the vocabulary items they know in different situations and different structures. We can show students pictures and ask them to talk or write what they see, and then give feedback and reinforcement. Ask students to prepare short presentations and watch how they develop their creativity to get good feedback. Show them films and videos and discuss the material with them by asking them to answer your questions or to put questions on the videos they watch. Therefore, students can acquire creativity by teaching them how to use the language freely, and the next step is to arouse their creativity by allowing them to solve problems and encouraging high thinking skills to participate in debates, to take part in role playing, communication in real life situations, competitions, group work, and task completion.

Their thoughts in language and work. For example: you should not aks your sts what do you think about the story? But you can ask them: what can you learn from the story? Or you should not ask your sts: don't do that! Don't do this! You can ask them: what happens if you do that way?
I do agree with Aida Mohammad that elements of creativity can be taught to students. One of the main principles of generative grammar is that man is able to create thousands of novel sentences whether they have heard or not heard before. The same concept is found in the Holy Quran that if all the seas of the world were turned into ink and all the woods in the world were turned into pencils, the number of words created by ALLAH will never finish.
Most certainly yes. I have found The Six Thinking Hats® system very useful: 1) The White Hat – calls for information known or needed. 2) The Red Hat – signifies feelings, hunches, and intuition. 3) The Black Hat – exercises judgment and plays the devil’s advocate or why something may not work. 4) The Yellow Hat – symbolizes brightness and optimism. 5) The Green Hat – focuses on creativity, including the possibilities, alternatives, and new ideas. 6) The Blue Hat – manages the thinking process. Creativity is a general property of humanity and every society is a product of creativity. Therefore, every human has creative ability that helps them to adapt to the environment. They can be taught creativity.
