The principle of linked data is to make links between concepts. The aim of an ontology is, based on experts consensus, to define concepts and their properties which are represented by links between URI's on machine language.
If SUMO have links like Dbpedia, FOAF, etc. means that there are no need to redefine the things that already exists on those ontologies.

If there really is a connection between them, should some class is derived from other Antology.
The connections refers to instantiations of some concepts related to other ontologies (ex: FOAF) in your ontology.
You can filter the classes defined in SUMO by just analysing the URIs prefixes.
