Looks like a fern to me too. They'd be able to grow without soil if the humidity is high enough.
It seems a fern. Ferns prefer indirect light. Daylight coming from window is adequate.
The resolution of the picture is not so good to identify as fern or tree species. It seems to have grown naturally within the crevice between glass and iron. Let it continue grow and occasionally water be sprinkled if necessary.
Plants which don't need to grow in soil are present, such as those 'Air Plants'. See attached picture for one of them. Some only need to dip in water every two week. If the environment is humid enough, properly they don't even need to dip in water.
