I have the latest version of avogadro but it can't do all the things that are shown in the youtube videos, for example, under >extension>surface type, I have only vanderwaals and electrostatic surface types. I am missing others. That's why I am looking for other alternatives.

Other options are MacMolPlt and, for example, you can use it with Gamess program to perform the calculations. Also, with avogadro you can use this free licence program.
Other one is the Molden or you can try with gaussview but is with licence.

If you are seeking for free platforms then as Mr. Bartra said GAMESS could be the one or if you want commercial softwares then Gaussian 09 with GaussView as GUI would be one of the best possible alternative for almost all of your queries.
However, if your job is limited to energy minimizations only, then go for GAMESS.
