I need ISI journals in nursing and health field with high acceptance rates to recommend it for friends who keep asking me and I have no time to search for?
Hi Ahmad - In my mind, I'm afraid that there is not clear answer to your question. There is no such thing as journals with 'high acceptance rates'; at least not established or reputable journals. Their acceptance rate is, hopefully, based on the quality of the manuscript submission. One might argue that there is a higher chance of acceptance in newly emerging journals, discipline-specific journals and open-access journals (as payment is usually required) - but that is often offset by smaller audiences, citation and impact factor. This is not always the case though. For instance, I am an Associate Editor of BMC Public Health. It is an open-access journal with a good impact factor for its field. The review process is rigorous - yet fair. On the other hand, I am also an Associate Editor for Bentham Sciences - The Open Nursing Journal. It is an emerging journal and turnaround from acceptance to publication is usually less than a month.
Its difficult to answer your question. But there are different Indexes that speak about high indexed Journals. To name a few: SCOPUS, ICI etc. SCOPUS gives you some good indexed Journals in Nursing.
Most of highly reputed nursing journals such as International Journal of Nursing Studies, Journal of Nursing Scholarship, Journal of Advanced Nursing, Nursing Outlook, and Nurse Education Today have a very low acceptance rate (I guess less than 10%) and a very long turn around (at least, approximately 1 year). Dean Whitehead I was offered to join the editorial board of the Bentham Sciences - The Open Nursing Journal. I have thought that it is included in a predatory journal. Is it my misunderstanding? I look forward to hearing from you.
