I did a project on image enhancement using PSO. I have to continue this for my full semester. What improvement is possible?
Dear Jaya Sapam Chanu, I am writing this to encourage you. Look project has one objective but generally we do as part 1 and 2. In part 1 usually it is background. In part 2 we should demonstrate that we achieved the objective which we set in the beginning.
Meet frequently to your project supervisor, make a log book and update this regularly. Discuss about your hurdles and confusions and get ideas from the supervisor and implement those ideas or consider the variations.

Suggestion 1: You can apply the same PSO for 3D Images. Here, you need to modify the PSO to work in 3 Dimensional ( Complicated ) .
Suggestion 2 : You can test the PSO for Bio Medical images with denoising feature ( Moderated ) .
Suggestion 3: You can enhance the Image using an advanced DWT technique and finally compare with PSO ( Easy )
Its good that you are using PSO for image enhancement as the classical techniques for enhancement are almost exhausted. I may suggest to explore and compare with other swarm intelligence techniques.
A standard direction for further work, from single images, is to move to video, then see if the inclusion of the temporal dimension results in more accurate estimates. For instance if you globally enhance K-frames, do you get better results in each k'th image than locally processing each one independently.
