I have a bilog antenna, which is used for radiated emission measurements according to only EN 55022 (not FCC Radiated emissions). The calibration procedure, for European testing standards, refers to CISPR 16, which requires a calibration of antennas without a ground plane. The requirements are the antenna factors measured in a fully anechoic room with no ground plane. Is it not necessary for me to calibrate according to ANSI C63.5 in both horizontal and vertical polarization?
I believe that you must check CISPR 16-1-5 in its subsection 4.2 "Antenna calibration test site (CALTS) specification" and Annex A, because it clearly states that the antennas must be calibrated using a ground plane. The CALTS is very similar to an OATS. All the EMC emmision testing antennas used in my Lab. were calibrated by ETS-Lindgren according to ANSI C63.5 at different measurement distances (1 m, 3m or 10 m depending on the size of your SAC) and in both H and V polarizations.
