Hi, I am not really an expert on tourism sector but I have studied and lectured on the link between sustainable tourism and energy policy (you can follow me to establish contact and exchanges if you want). I am also living in a developing country and what really strikes me is that almost all (if not all) high-quality tourism infrastructure belongs to non-locals !!! This ultimately means that tourism services are "imported" and nothing to do with "authenticity of locality". Which reflects back to visitors of course - who search this authenticity when come to visit. I have no idea whether this matter is discussed in the literature but should be discussed I think...
