There are some data from gas exchange of plants, I would like to know which type of calculation of WUE is better? WHEi or WHEe?
There are several papers that are presented with individual or both of them. Is it depend on plant specious or other conditions? Or it is a personal choice.

Intrinsic WUE (An/gs) is considered to be more realistic and comparable among studies, as it is not influenced by changes in leaf to air VPD (vapor pressure deficit) in the leaf chamber of an IRGA device (Bacon, M.2009.WUE in plant biology).
