The subject of my master thesis to examine Japanese Folktales by applying Propp's method. How discribed folktales in Japanese? How applied V. Propp's method in Japan literature or any area? Please help me abot my researchers.
Please refer to a series of papers which attempt a wider investigation aimed at within the scope of 'The Northanger Library Project (NLP): Tools and Frames' The paper which I referred, "An outline of Propp's model for the study of Fairy Tales" by Manuel Auguirre(Oct-2011) discusses Vladimir Propp's 'Morphology of the Folktale'. Keeping that as a working base, it also employs Aarne-Thompson(AT) Index that lists tale-types from all over the world; it outlines 5 categories of tales. It also talks about a few techniques like 'narratology'. I don't know how far it may help you, but I am sure that it may throw some light on a textual base for your research.
