Can slurry and sludge external mixing pumps have a design life of 20 years? If they were built to last twenty years how would this effect the pump efficiency? I mean to accomplish longer service life of slurry pumps one needs to increase the clearance which would reduce the pump efficiency. One must sacrifice high pump efficiencies in order to have a longer design life. What would be a typical pump efficiency of an external slurry mixing pump that has a design life of 20 years? Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.
