As you can see from the attached files, I am modelling an ultrasonic standing wave field in my fluid domain in COMSOL V5.2.
For the 1D plot, I am analyzing the pressure amplitude at the centre of my fluid domain, going from the right (starting) to left (reflector wall). The plot of my pressure amplitude at different frequency looks awkward. I am not sure why.
What I can you tell you is that the shape of the standing wave field at 1.5, 1.7 and 2.5 MHz are not straight, i.e. not parallel to the transducer. I only have that shape at 2.1 MHz but I have not plotted that graph yet.
For a given cavity length and sound velocity in the material there will be a fundamental resonant frequency, and harmonics thereof, at which you will get standing wave formation. Your plots look like you are not applying a resonant frequency for the geometry.
Are you performing a stationary or time-dependent study? If the frequency does not correspond to a resonance within the cavity then a stationary solver may not be appropriate.

My resonant frequency is at 2 MHz. As you can see there are standing wave formation from the 2D and 1D plot graph that I have attached.
But I am curious as to why it does not form a perfect standing wave formation where the amplitudes are the same.
Is it due to damping? attenuation? Or something else?
