I think the new government should focus much towards development of science and technology along with several other sectors.
Farmers needs to be encouraged not to depend on monsoon. They need to move to water intensive cultivation to water free cultivation. Government must invest more in research focused on the interaction between meteorology and agronomy. It is necessary to provide weather details and climate information to farmers and market agencies. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that this monsoon would be less than normal.
Despite enormous challenges,a nation needs leadership who can inspire,infuse its people with confidence and remind them that greatness is theirs if they would push a bit harder.

Ending Gujarat’s eight-year-long wait, Chief Minister Anandi Patel on Thursday announced that the Narmada Control Authority (NCA) has given approval to raise the height of the dam to 138.62 metres, which, on its completion, would allow the state to get three times more water for irrigation.
The Narendra Modi government has in one stroke enhanced India’s energy security by ratifying the Additional Protocol with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The issue has been pending for more than five years for want of a decision by the UPA government. With the ratification, the decks have been cleared for import of nuclear technology and raw material like enriched uranium for nuclear power plants. Nuclear energy is the cornerstone of the Modi government’s plan to secure energy for India’s power needs. The ratification has paved the way for India’s entry into the 45-member Nuclear Suppliers’ Group that meets at Buenos Aires next week.
