Can anybody recommend an alternative method for diagnosing liquorrhea than immunoblot for beta 2-transferrin or immunonephelometric assay of beta-trace protein?
An alternative method will be the determination of glucose and protein levels in the nasal fluid since there are differences in the levels of these two substances in regular nasal secretion and liquorrhea:
I am aware of the possibility of glucose and protein measurement in nasal fluid, but as I know determination of beta 2-transferrin or beta-trace protein are more valid methods.
