I am not sure if it is possible to use the protocol for FITC-casein also for FITC-keratin. But you should keep in mind that FITC labelling might change the properties of your protein of interest. This is especially relevant if your protein is interacting with others. You should have a method to evaluate the effects of the FITC labelling (maybe fluorescence microscopy in the case of FITC-keratin?).
