Normally it is considered that gas exchange in Lungs is mostly oxygen and carbon Di- Oxide. Nitrogen which is so abundantly available in air goes into the lungs and exhaled out without being used.

According to my thinking there is nothing in the environment which has no utility. Similarly utility of Hydrogen and Argon which are available in traces in the ambient air remains to be researched.
