Peroxiredoxins (Prx) are known to have peroxidase (POD) function and can reduce simple, as well as complex peroxide substrates. In general, a prokaryotic Prx has two components, one with POD activity and the other with reductase (TR & Trx) activity.

Has anyone come across any Prx system, in which a single subunit alone could reduce H2O2 without the need of another subunit?
