Go ahead! It sounds interesting. Of course your papers or presentations will include disclaimers to the effect that one cannot be sure that similar-seeming art reflects a similar underlying cosmology. But it's perfectly reasonable to suggest that they might.
Looks good enough really; as for the Northern Eurasian carved rock art (petroglyphs), we also may observe cases of multiple palimpsest-like stacking of the same cosmo-images of different times in one place, since the artists added their own details again and again over the oldest initial images. And more, they also tended to imitate the same images in more recent times. Yet the issue still remains whether their thoughts were the same through the ages, while they have been imitating past masters? Anyway, the very fact of such a dialogue is intriguing.
Once prehistoric is geared toward history i think is prudent to use the historic and cultural aspect of the people who leaved in the caves, it also in the right direction.
