Turbo-drive does not apply, it is a step-by-step process to unfold human creative power; academic mentoring can be seen as a subcategory of this inter-action for human growth, but it is more limited to a certain project.
A good mentor is someone who has knowledge and experience in subject you are interesting in, and he/she is already at the stage where you want to be in teh future. And also he/she realizes your life values. This is important to have same or similar life values, because, sometimes we want to learn from someone who has achieved "big goal", but we do not see HOW it has achieved it. In my opinion it is best to combine good mentoring with good coaching, to discover what you specifically want for yourself, not only
follow the footsteps of other people.
