Philosophically the issue of user empowerment seems to be unsolvable, as by definition design both limits and empowers a certain use. Historically the issues typically seems to vary between a technological approach (e.g. movable partitions) and a spatial approach (e.g. over-dimensioned spaces to more easily allow different occupations). Alejandro Aravena - Elemental have in recent years given the issue more visibility in the media. What is your view on the subject? Do you know other recent cases?
