A CALL FOR BOOK CHAPTERS
Artificial intelligence (AI) presents itself as the boon on the technological pedestal in the Global North and South with scholars pointing out a number of merits. The new shift is poised to revolutionize many sectors of society. Speculations have been rife concerning the potential of AI to revolutionize warfare, marital life and the job market. Some writers have extended their speculation to describe the possibility of AI’s potential to increase humankind’s longevity and productivity, as robots would work in industries and other sectors with such amazing efficiency that human beings would focus more on their social lives and be remunerated for raising families. Such is the optimism that pervades some voices that appraise the impact of AI to communities in in the world today. On the flipside, divergent voices express anxiety over AI’s potential to cause unemployment, accentuate cases of impersonation and theft, and adulterate moral values through human-robot romantic relationships. These contradictions create a dilemma, particularly in the Global South with regard to the new technological innovation. This book explores the impact of artificial intelligence on education and other organs of society such as economy, industry and religion.
