Calcium doping into ZnO

Calcium doping into ZnO crystal by basic co-precipitation method shows me a red shift in the optical bandgap. Usually, a blueshift is expected. My case seems to be very abnormal. Any comments?

confirm with increasing Ca content, what happens, repeat your results on a separate batch of freshly made sample, and carefully confirm your results, and if observe the same behavior, try to explain the results.
