In a strategic sense, there is a limit to how far into the future our predictions (of probabilities) of outcomes can be held to be of pragmatic (business) value. I believe that, beyond the 3, 5, or even 10-year strategic views of management, we must engage more fully with the imagination, both individual and collective. In this respect, futures and foresight thinking that adopts an element of fiction development and interpretation has much to offer. There is a bridge required between the trends and signals embedded in the big data of our material present (that AI may well shine a light on), and the human possibilities of a future within the imagination (that AI is unlikely to be able to access/replicate). Our challenge as human leaders/managers is to build that bridge.
-Strategic management is a set of managerial decisions and actions that determines the long-run performance of a corporation. It refers to top management’s plans to develop and sustain a competitive advantage. It includes environmental scanning (both external and internal), strategy formulation (strategic or long-range planning), strategy implementation, and evaluation and control.
Meta-knowledge is a concept that refers to knowledge about knowledge itself, and how it is created, shared, and used within organizations. Similarly, meta-strategic management can be seen as knowledge about strategic management itself, and how it can be effectively implemented and refined within organizations.
In my opinion, the modernity of meta-strategic management will involve leveraging emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data analytics to gain insights into the effectiveness of strategic management processes and practices. This can involve using data-driven approaches to analyze and optimize strategic decision-making, as well as measuring the impact of strategic initiatives and adjusting course accordingly.
Another aspect of meta-strategic management may involve creating a more collaborative and inclusive approach to strategic management, where diverse perspectives and ideas are incorporated into the strategic planning and execution process. This can involve using technology to facilitate virtual collaboration and engagement, as well as embracing more agile and iterative approaches to strategic management that allow for greater flexibility and responsiveness.
Overall, the modernity of meta-strategic management will involve a more data-driven, collaborative, and agile approach to strategic management that leverages emerging technologies and incorporates diverse perspectives and ideas into the strategic planning and execution process.
After strategic management, next is feedback mechanism. For positive feedback, strategic actions are sustained. For negative feedback, go back to policy inputs and rejig. Business policies evolved into strategic planning, strategic planning evolved into strategic actions/execution, strategic actions are managed for desired result, after strategic management, next is feedback and response to the feedback and the cycle continues
What about computing power being used to negate all the possibilities of negative outcomes while planning strategy. AI can use deep learning which can with very higher processing speed and accuracy give outcomes. What if businesses use deep learning sort of mechanism to negate all the possible negative outcomes???
P.S. the sufficient amount data needs to be feed to the systems to be able differentiate between positive and negative outcomes.
