Schiff,s bases are imines and re hydrolysed by an acids. Hence , for breaking of a Schiff,s bases carry out acid hydrolysis using HCl in an aqueous ethanolic solution.

M. Chem I agree with Madhukar Baburao Deshmukh in that hydrolysis of the C=N bond could be the main problem. You could try to repeat the reactions under anhydrous conditions using unsolvated metal precursors and e.g. dry acetonitrile a solvent.

Dear Frank T. Edelmann thank you for your suggestion . I already have tried dry solvent but didnt try anhydrous metal salt . I am gonna try anhydruous metal and hope it works .

I solved this situation. Before using metal salts, I dried them with molecular sieve and it worked.
