I am doing research in Bio medical signal, can any one help in regard of Borderline ECG , Their Specification in respect to P Peak, R Peak, T Peak , ST Segment , PR Interval and PR Segment .
Reference value for Normal and Abnormal is known But how to fix the Borderline ECG . Please help in this regards
Terminology: "Borderline" for Noise, Voltage levels .... ? These are usually set (defined) in the specific algorithm used by the system.
Thank you for the reply sir, as we there is golden rule of finding normal and abnormal ECG ie R Peak - 0.1 - 2.0 mV , R-R Interval : 0.6 -1.2 sec , P Peak : 0.1-0.25 mV , T Peak - 0.1 - 0.5 mV , QRS : 0.06 -0.10 sec , PR Interval : 0.12 - 0.20 sec , ST Segment : 0.08 - 0.12 , These are normal Range . If it goes beyond or less of this range it called as abnormal , Now I want to Fix a Value which is borderline ECG or Early for Cardiac complication, is there any range to fix this .
"Borderline" seems very vague, esp when more specific terms could be used indicating which conditions may be suspected from the same data set (or just use the accepted term "Abnormal"). By assigning such "names", you are "interpreting" the ECG signal data and assigning a "description entry". This is something that has been available for several decades and is offered in many commercial EKG (ECG) software packages/instruments. Such interpretations are always subjective and based on the data windows, set by the programmer. You may find that some of the instrument manufacturers have published the data values (and limits) they use to describe these very specific interpretive statements.
In the past, companies such as Hewlett-Packard (Phlilps Medical) have included detailed definitions of the many terms and algorithms used in their products. You may find their product manuals very informative and useful as guides to define terms and estimate or establish limits.
I would suggest you review the available EKG software terminology, the manual and programming decision trees used to qualify each interpretive statement presented by the EKG system. The ones already provided by the manufacturers do a great job of covering this need at the present time.

A borderline ECG is a designation that alerts the cardiologist (who, more often than not, doesn't actually read the ECG) to the fact that "something is not quite right" with the tracing. At best, it prompts the reader to look more closely and that is why it appears as a "machine" diagnosis.
Two aspects of the tracing are being addressed by the computer (based on your stem). One relates to waveform amplitude, which, when falling into the abnormal range, reflects chamber enlargement or hypertrophy. The other relates to repolarization abnormalities. When their values fall into to the abnormal range, concern regarding ischemia enters the picture.
You need to be specific about what you mean by "Early for Cardiac Complication". All tests are subject to sensitivity and specificity. By detecting an abnormality that would be construed as evidence of either "mild disease" or "early" evidence for it, you are interested in the test's sensitivity. Even when a human actually reads the ECG, sensitivity is not great, only around 65% for most forms of structural heart disease.
In my view, the one parameter most often missed is a correct QT interval. That might be a focus of your effort, as it would be worthwhile. Prolonged (mainly when >500 msec) and abnormally short QT intervals reflect deadly conditions.
