I spent some good time trying to find a book on the fundamentals of ecology for general public, I was kind of looking for someone who was to ecology what Stephen J. Gould is to evolution. Someone suggested this book and I became a huge fan. I taught Urban Ecology in an urban studies program and this was the bible of the course.
