Dear Researchers,
A couple of weeks ago, I came across a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) case. That patient only survived for a week after it. If anyone of you have come across such transplant, what its outcome was? We need to know the recovery rate from such BMT.

This is not easy to a say in a single word. Factors such as age, clinical history, ethnicity, donor (related or unrelated or matched), BMT procedure, surgical complications, transfusion, graft acceptance, role of GVHD, follow up medications, possibility of acquiring infections (post transplant) need to consider. Hence, pointing out single event is like finding a needle in hay stack..
In general, the success rate of BMT depends on aforementioned factors. hence pointing out single event is like finding a needle in hay stack.. a simple mismatch in blood transfusion is enough to ruin our entire efforts.
Therefore, it is better to look at the variable case by case and then we can find some common variable which poses serious threat, some variable poses minor threat... etc

A bone marrow transplant (BMT) is a special therapy for patients with certain cancers or other diseases. A bone marrow transplant involves taking cells that are normally found in the bone marrow (stem cells), filtering those cells, and giving them back either to the donor (patient) or to another person1.
