I was wondering if any of you could recommend me peer-reviewed articles or books revolving around board game enjoyment factors?
I know there are several models for video game enjoyment, but for board games the selection seems scarce at best.

Maybe the book Rules of Play (Salen & Zimmerman) could help you. It is about games in general, but it has two chapters that may be insteresting for you: Chapter 23 - Games as the play of experience and Chapter 24 - Games as the play of pleasure. Also, at the end of each chapter there are some references that you could check.
