Both hyperglycemia and hyperlactatemia are known to occur in diabetes mellitus. The later can occur with administration of certain medications in rare circumstances. Both conditions are associated with unwanted complications if allowed to prolong for a long time. In certain circumstances they can increase simultaneously and in other circumstances the increase is inversely proportional to each other.
