What is the best practice used in your organization for fluid saturation prediction from seismic / wellbore acoustic data in unconventional reservoirs? Technical publications describing this will be highly appreciated.

Dear Alexander, glad to meet you.
Formerly and presently, I understand that the best tool or instrument for lithology and pore fluid prediction is seismic inversion, not only the acoustic, but also the prestack simultaneous elastic inversion. Even in conventional or unconventional reservoirs, such as Vaca Muerta Fm. in Argentina.
To a better answer, maybe I need to know your dataset, both, seismic (prestack / poststack); well-logs (FWS or not) but, please, check this two landmark papers, attached in this answer.

It is nice to meet you too, and thank you for your reply! The first paper, however, is about fluid properties calculations, while the second by my two colleagues from Equinor, explains Gassmann’s fluid substitution, which is not applicable for tight rocks due to unrelaxed squirt flow response. Furthermore, the second paper describes different averaging techniques, which give huge uncertainty to saturation prediction. That is why I am wondering if there is anything better than this for unconventional reservoirs? At this stage, I want to understand better the rock physics which needs to be used.
