As per current senario of medical education in India. The number of people showing interest to medical profession is declining day by day. To teach the medical education and to encourage the medical students in learning the vast subjects, which is the best method to educate and passionate them?
Is there a single 'best' way? I am not sure. Personally I believe in a mix of several approaches. A lot of factual knowledge needs to be acquired, there simply no way around that, but in order to tune judgement and promote the application of the factual knowledge, seminars by experienced practitioners and Problem-Based Learning will play a role. On a more informal basis, role-modelling is important as well as multidisciplinary learning. We also teach all our health professionals together [doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, speech therapists, ...] this creates a deeper appreciation of the value of the other professions in the students and makes their future teamwork easier.
so not single approach, but include the best of each.
