Carbon quantum dots are very promising for research. However, its purification and physical properties are not well covered, especially for its powdered form. The best way to get it is through filtration, then dialysis and finally freeze drying. Freeze drying protocols are sophistacted and for getting good cake and not a collapsed sample, the freeze drying parameters should be well defined. Fortunaltely, this might not be enough 😂 as still CQDs may still be hygroscopic and its properties differ according to the precursor and method of fabrication.
