I am getting the following result from gaussian calculation in the determination of emission spectrum of an organic compound.
Excited state 1: Singlet-A 3.1234 eV 396.95nm f=0.0349 =0.000
I wanted to ask, what does the 3.1234 eV represent in this result?

Convert the 396.95nm to eV scale. You will be surprised.
It is the peak position, (both nm & eV)

is it the peak position or the excitation energy? I am confused because I was looking over a tutorial and the person claimed it to be excitation energy while from literature it is referred to excitation maxima or the absorption. Which is which?
