I am considering to use PCR for identification of X. vesicatoria (from tomato spot), however I am still exploring alternative tests. I have found an ELISA test for several Xanthomonas species, but have not found any for X. vesicatoria. Are there perhaps any ELISA tests available with X. vesicatoria?
Any recommendations would be helpful,

why not using both? ELISA test is reliable as much as PCR but using both might increase the consistency of your test with more reliable data.
ELISA is considered cheaper but PCR testing is definitively more precise and might help you to have a better overview.
Maybe you could even try to quantify the infection (with SYBR Green/TaqMan if available).

Peter Foerster Just to remind: Neither PCR nor IFA positive result can be accepted as a final result of analysis without isolation of alive bacteria and pathogenicity test .
Karen and Alex provided links to ELISAs. But be aware: Xanthomonas campestris pv. vesicatoria (Xcv) is NOT Xanthomonas vesicatoria! The correct taxonomic name for Xcv is Xanthomonas euvesicatoria pv. euvesicatoria (Constantin et al., Plant Pathology(2016)65,792–80; doi: 10.1111/ppa.12461). Therefore: DO NOT BUY an ELISA for Xanthomonas campestris pv. vesicatoria - it won't work for Xanthomonas vesicatoria!
