Some countries in that critical period went to face-to-face testing for high school students and final year students at universities. What do you think of that case? What are its positives and risks? Your opinion is highly regarded.
I think that is one of the available solutions. Students can be divided into small groups and we have to take into account all the health measures. In addition, we can plan an emergency schedule in which we will perform only the necessary and mandatory actions in face to face sessions.
Abdelkader Mohamed Elsayed In my country, Cyprus we are having some face-to-face tests for College students and High School Graduates for acceptance to the Universities. We didn't have any other test other than these for high school students and secondary students. All University students are had midterms and finals online including final year university students
Having face-to-face tests for high school or college students put both teachers and students at risk of contacting the novel virus. If the schools have to do face-to-face tests, then students and teachers have to wear face masks and keep six feet social distance.
Dr Abdelkader, it's good to have face-to-face to assess the quality and confidence of the students. But, it is not advisable to conduct this kind of tests during this covid-19 crisis. However, face-to-face tests may be conducted with appropriate measures. In our country, the exams were postponed for the university students.
I think the time has not come to sit face to face. Theory class is going on by online and practical classes and the final exam it could be, later on, I placed this opinion considering the worse situation of our country. Wishing you the best.
You are very right. It is not yet time to conduct face-to-face classes, tests and examinations. In Zimbabwe, final year university students had been allowed to write examinations provided there was sanitization and social distancing. Medical students had also been allowed to be on campus for practical sessions. Despite these precautions, a lecturer at one university tested positive for the coronavirus. The number of reported infections countrywide is also rising steeply. University campuses throughout the country have now been closed and the writing of all examinations postponed indefinitely.
