As I am currently working on the situation of dying patients and their families and the meaning of attachment theory it would be helpful to get recommendations about interesting studies/papers on this topic.
That would be interesting to study attachment styles of terminal ill patients, as death is a great separation from our loved ones, detaching us from our families, properties and every thing we have loved but, currently, i have no idea about the researches done on this , Dear Angelika , i am impatiently waiting for other answers .
Dear Mahmood, I agree with you, to support terminally ill patients and their families we really need to know more about the different attachment styles. After all dying is a process of loosing all attachments as you wrote. There are two papers from Feeney & Hohaus and from Loetz et al (in English) and one from Yvonne Petersen albeit in German. If you like I can send them to you.
I studied the English articles , which one of them used attachment in a family or spousal system and the another which is conceptualized spirituality as related to attachment, personally the second one was too useful for me and i would be grateful for that, but it triggered some questions which i will ask them later after i configure something out.
the interesting thing was that i found a very good article on Mortality Salience and Attachment which i send it to you with best best wishes .
Hello! I'm glad I saw this thread. I think it's a very interesting topic. I'm also thinking of coping and attachment styles in relation to families of terminally ill as my undergraduate paper. This thread is very helpful!
