I am running an experiment in which a formulation of a protein and hyaluronic acid is being mixed with PBS buffer, heated to 30°C and monitored via SLS at 90° . I want to know if the hyaluronic acid is slowing down or preventing aggregation of the protein due to thermal stress.
Dear Sir. Concerning your issue about the temperatures at which a liquid solution of hyaluronic acid form a hydrogel in PBS buffer. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally non-sulfated glycosaminoglycan that is widely distributed throughout the extracellular matrix (ECM) of all connective tissues in human and other animals. A composition comprising a hydrogel polymer for use as a vitreous substitute for replacing the vitreous humor of an eye is disclosed. The hydrogel polymer comprises oxidated hyaluronic acid and a dihydrazide, in which the dihydrazide cross-links the oxidated hyaluronic acid. The hydrogel polymer exhibits the following properties: a) transparent and colorless; and b) transforming from a liquid state into a gel-matrix at 37° C.
