I'm interested in quantifying the output of a chromoprotein (amilCP specifically) in E. coli. I will be using this color output as a pseudo-quantification of the concentration of iron in the colony / environment. My initial thought was that perhaps MATLAB or R has a method of converting a color to a number -- maybe 0 for yellow / natural E. coli color and 1.0 for darkest blue (positive control plasmid). Does anyone have the code for this or have any suggestions? Thanks!
