I am writing to let you know my opinion about serious games in military education.
Simulation method is applied in military education for learning targeted situation, for example, the arrival of the explosive device, organization convoys, checkpoints and others.
It does an event of everyday military life. Set the conditions for the implementation of tasks and participants can expect certain reactions that lead to solutions.
The armed forces are most often carried out war game where you follow the actions and reactions of participants and brings out the best solution for the implementation of the operation. A great advantage of the implementation of the game that the errors do not cause consequences and the learning process associated with critical reflection and anticipation.
I have acquired decades of business and educational experience encompassing:
· game-based learning, experiential, competency-based, and project-based learning modules;
· online course instructional design, delivery and curriculum development; and
· classroom-based curriculum development.
I have facilitated learning through serious games, simulations, RPG, board games, card games, and immersive learning environments across a wide spectrum of community college, BA/BS, BBA, MS, MBA, DBA, and PhD learners as well as Corporate Executive Education courses. As a scholarly practitioner with decades of “at the coal face” experience, my reputation has been established by integrating the pragmatics of the business world with the research-intensive nature of the academic world through game-based learning.
Later this month (Aug 2019), my co-authored text comes out:
EMOTIFY! The Power of the Human Element in Game-Based Learning, Serious Games and Experiential Education.
