One of my PhD students wants to conduct a tracer test in a flooded underground mine. To do this, we are looking for a European mine with at least two interconnected and flooded mine shafts that are still accessible from either underground or the surface. At least one of the two shafts needs to be connected to a drainage ditch or drainage gallery which actively drains the mine water. In addition, we would need electricity at the ditch or gallery.
Are you aware of such a mine in your country and if yes, would you mind connecting us to the relevant persons or staff?

I might have the solution that you are looking for.
I am working as a research assistant at the Underground Mining dept. of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany. What is more important is that we run our own Research and Educational Mine "Reiche Zeche" in Freiberg.
The mine has several levels, the majority of which are flooded (under 200m). There is at least one shaft that is also flooded to a certain level and is accessible. For the second one I have to check because I am not 100% sure.
In any case, our department is always open to new collaborations and if our underground mining facilities meet your demands I think it could work out for you.

Hi, I just read something about the water treatment of the South Crofty tin mine in Cornwall/GB (shall be de-watered for reopening). I just do not know how many shafts there are and which are still/again accessible. Similarly but closer to you, Poehla-Tellerhaeuser might be reopened soon. Maybe the blind shaft is already accessible again?
