I am working on developing fully pearlitic steels with fine interlamellar spacing. I am going to heat up samples to austenization temperature (1000 degC) at a heating rate of 10 degC per second and hold/soak it at austenization temperature for 10 min and cool it down to room temperature at 0.2 degC/sec. This is possible for lab scale samples. I would like to know if there are heat treatment methods for decreasing austenization holding time for thick and heavy samples around 500-800 kg to obtain fully pearlitic microstructure.
