I would like to know are there any regulations or standards for eHMI? As there are many studies considering interaction between AVs and other road users, especially VRUs, I'm curious if there is a unified standard about the way of interaction.

Hello Xiaojie, that is a good question and unfortunately, the answer is no. We do not have yet any regulations or standards for eHMI, more research still needs to be conducted before we know how eHMI should look like, etc. However, we are working towards that :)
Yeahh, thanks, Lee, I used to do some literature review before and also find it hard to make a standard because of the different culture in different areas, etc. There is still a long way to go... :)

There are some claims made by ISO and the national traffic administration of some countries. However, they are actually not the standards or regulations, but the requirements and recommendations in the topic of eHMI for AVs. Besides, the standard developping organisation, such as GTB, SAE, made some suggestions of standards, but they are only the "suggestions" and not established in a official form. You can find their PPT online. I hope this could be helpful for you.

I've found some technical papers, such as "Unsettled Issues Regarding Visual Communication Between Automated Vehicles and Other Road Users", but didn't find the PPT you mentioned.

As regards SAE, its task force J3134 dicussed in 2018 the feasability of using ADS marker lamps and signal lamps to fullfill the need of communications between AVs and other road users. 你好，很高兴能与你讨论，希望能给你一些帮助。但由于我也是刚深入了解该领域的一些情况，所以了解的也不是很全面，只能就之前调研过的进行回答。
1.不多，去年开始我针对自动驾驶汽车和行人的交互进行了一些调研，多数研究来自欧美日。
2.就我所知，吉林大学、清华大学、湖南大学、同济大学等在这方面都有一些老师在做，算是比较新兴热门的课题。
3.企业方面仅了解到百度有发表过有关车外交互的报告。
