Well, there are kinds of non-lead materials apart from Li-BZT, for example, ZnO. Some applications such as nanogenerators seem not applicable for BZT-system. By the way, is it possible to make BZT nanotubes or BZT fiber, any experinces or publications ?
What you need is large small signal d33, I think BZT-based materials may not be the best option for this (comparing bulk materials). But I am not 100 % familiar with the system. Normally in small shape things you have a reduce response, but I cannot tell you if it would be proportional for all materials. To synthetize BZT-based fiber should be definitely possible but may not be trivial. You can actually check a recent paper

They did pretty similar composition nanofibers. Unfortunately, I normally use a conventional sold state synthesis for my materials.
The article on doped-BZT fiber in Phys. Status Solidi mentioned above is an initiative work (that I wished to do as the first !). It's interesting that the fiber is unwoven and required heat treatment at a low temperature of 700 C which is not able to do in solid state reaction methods. Anyway, it depends on what we want and where to use the materials we fabricate.
yes, Matias , I guess there is/are group(s) somewhere have been measuring their piezoelectric coefficients which yet have not been reported. (Again, I wish to do it as the first.)
In low dimensional devices probably not is true, but in standard bulk samples it should be already reported the BZT system is quite studied already....by the way this may be itenresting for you.
