Regarding the cylindrical cells, I was wondering why the 18650 type is preferred? I was told that there is a problem if one increases the height of a cylindrical cell. Basically, because of capillary effect, there is a problem with the wettability of the electrolyte when the cylindrical cells are vertically positioned ? Is this true? Then how do prismatic types and soft packs solve this problem? A more likely scenario might be that quality control is more difficult with larger-size cells, such as uniformity, safety, heat build-up.
