Therea have been some proposals for quite sometime on how to actually ensure people learn by being in a virtual learning environment; however I wonder, how precise do these metrics and indicators capture the very esence of learning from the whole range of different capacities and skills involved, wether technical skills and soft skills.
Good Morning. So far, I have not knowledge of it: metrics or indicators analyzed in depth. We are extracting indicators that could help in tutoring in these environments. A student is working with us in this field for his PhD.

Quizzes and peer assessment using rubrics if you are in a Mooc context. In a traditional learning supported by e-platform besides you could design activities based on videoconference and, in this way, you can assess subjectively their mastery.
I am curious about your question in the sense that it implies that it is easy to measure learning in a "real" environment - however you might define this and a "virtual" environment - however that is defined. I would imagine that however you define or assess learning in non-virtual environments might also be applied (perhaps with some minor modification) to virtual environments. These might be demonstrations of learning, explanations of concepts etc.
