In fear of corona disease, the whole World has been used many disinfectants and chemicals. Thus it needs to think about their bioaccumulation effect and suitable remedy measure simultaneously to save the Earth from any type of environmental problem in the near future.
I agree with Sonika Kumari that it depends on nature and composition of chemicals and the ultimate effect shall be the extent natural balance of ecosystem is disturbed.

There is a increase in medical waste and waste management units needs to be strengthened accordingly. The chemical disinfectants will reach to the sewerage and river water and they may affect the flora and fauna in the environment. Whether the present waste water treatment plants are capable of removing these disinfectants from water water is not clear? Side effects will be clear in near future.
Yes, definitely side effects will be visible in near future. Because chemical disinfectants will be entered in sewage as well as soil which will be accumulated toxic substance such as chemical pollutant, heavy metals, antibiotics and so on. This accumulated toxic substance will be harmful to environment as well as human beings.

I am very surprised by the answers above. Even if there are seven replies, nobody mentioned the most important issue: what is the chemical composition of a disinfectant.
The disinfection prepared according to WHO recommendation contains:
FORMULATION 1
Ethanol 96% • Hydrogen peroxide 3% • Glycerol 98% • Sterile distilled or boiled cold water
FORMULATION 2
Isopropyl alcohol 99.8% • Hydrogen peroxide 3% • Glycerol 98% • Sterile distilled or boiled cold water
Many other disinfections used during a pandemic were formulated from completely biodegradable chemicals, as it is the case for WHO formulations.
It means that if the chemicals used are completely biodegradable, no risk of accumulation in the environment exists.
From the above-mentioned facts, it is clear, that considerations about accumulation, side effects etc. are misleading.

The accumulation of all sorts of drugs in different waters will be probably a major problem in the future, in addition to plastics and acidification by CO2. Disinfectants (not ethanol, hydrogen peroxide, etc. evidently, soaps?) are only part (how much?) of the problem. Thanks to Afzal Husain Khan for the reference.

It will definitely, because in a bid to rid surfaces and the environment, assorted chemicals were used which have the tendency of bioaccumulation. This will happen quickly if these chemicals are washed into an aquatic environment through surface runoff. This will enter the food chain and come haunt humans post Covid-19

Dear T.S. Ray... the disinfection process typical a chemical reaction between the contaminant species with the chemical disinfectant. Both materials are destroyed during this process. The most successful disinfectant is the best degradable material. Thus, the chance of accumulation in my opinion is limited. However, the disposed masks and gloves are more dangerous than disinfectant materials.
I think that the gloves and masks and Disinfectant cans is more dangerous to the environment than disinfectants, because the analysis of these substances and their transformation into toxic substances that affect the environment and water(same effect of plastic)
