Granules consist of particles formed by the progressive enlargement of primary particles until their original identity is no longer visible.Pellets consist of spherical particulates produced during a precise forming and mechanical handling operation. Of course, they have better appearance than granules.

Plastic granules are usually used in processing recycled plastics, while plastic pellets are usually used in extrusion. The injection molding processing machine , which I used a lot when I was a student & then as teaching assistant, was capable of handling both (granules or pellets).
