Publication in many journals is free, but you have to pay when you would like to have open access for your published paper. Consult the instructions for authors provided by the journals in your field of research.

Unfortunately, in my experience, there are many paid ones. But there are also many unpaid ones, luckily (unless you choose open access as Dr Wolfgang R. Dick mentioned)).
I would suggest you need to keep looking for journals relevant to your topic of interest and choose a relevant unpaid one. Unpaid ones may have a slightly longer review time; that is potentially another disadvantage.
