P-12 educators have long been considered mandatory role models, thus reducing their privacy rights regarding their out-of-school behavior. Violations of this status of exemplar are often characterized as acts of immorality. What is not as well understood is whether professors, who often can also be disciplined for immoral acts, are, or should be, held to a similar role model status as P-12 educators. Your thoughts on whether professors are or should be held to a higher standard of conduct for their off-campus acts is appreciated.
